The ‘Film in Hospital’ brings back the Croatian Audiovisual Centre program ‘Cinema, Play, Film’!
On Tuesday, February 3rd, at Srebrnjak Children’s Hospital in Zagreb, Croatia, our project Film in Hospital once again became a hub of film literacy and creativity, hosting the “Cinema, Play, Film” program by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC).
The star of the event was a true masterpiece of Croatian cinematography:
🦔 Hedgehog’s Home (2017) – The award-winning animated film by Eva Cvijanović, which breathed new magic into Branko Ćopić’s timeless classic. While it is a staple of school reading lists, its value goes far beyond the classroom. It is a universal story about home and integrity and thanks to its stunning stop-motion puppet animation and warm atmosphere, it remains one of the most memorable and beloved titles on our platform.
Through a guided discussion with Prof. Marina Zlatarić, the children explored the deeper messages of the story. The program continued with Cave Hikers, presented by the game’s co-author Zvonimir Barać, who introduced children to its 2D universe. Young participants followed three characters on a journey through a cavernous world on a quest to find the mystical “cave with an infinite ceiling”.
We are proud that Film in Hospital regularly hosts high-quality programs and collaborators, ensuring children have access to the film 365 days a year.
