Meetings in Brussels on the occasion of the event “Cultural Deal for Europe: Annual Policy Conversation 2026” (February 3–4, 2026)

Edita Bilaver, representing the “Kids Meet Art” Association and the European project Film in Hospital, attended the “Cultural Deal for Europe: Annual Policy Conversation 2026” in Brussels on February 3 and 4, 2026. The event was organized by the Culture Action Europe network.

During her visit, she held targeted bilateral meetings with key stakeholders in European cultural policy and cross-sectoral cooperation, including:

  • Ambassador Irena Andrassy, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the EU, and representatives of the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union;
  • Kornelija Kiss, Head of the Culture4Health platform at Culture Action Europe;
  • Monica Urian (Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture – DG EAC, European Commission), alongside Iris Verhoeven from the partner organization JEF (Belgium).

The meetings focused on presenting the Film in Hospital project and exchanging insights on current European initiatives at the intersection of culture and health. Discussions also addressed the strategic positioning of the 2026–2028 project cycle, during which “Kids Meet Art” will take on the role of European lead coordinator of the project.

The visit also provided an opportunity to further engage with the Culture Action Europe network, which “Kids Meet Art” has recently joined, and to strengthen the European visibility of Film in Hospital. In addition, it contributed to building closer cooperation with key partners and policymakers working at the intersection of culture, healthcare and children’s rights.
