Bringing Timeless Croatian Film Heritage to Children in Hospitals
Dear young patients, parents, teachers, educators, and medical staff,
We are thrilled to announce that the “Croatian Heritage Package” has officially arrived and is now available on the Croatian platform filmubolnici.org!
At the request of our youngest viewers, we are bringing a true treasure trove of local film heritage featuring four iconic titles that generations have grown up with, laughed with, and learned from.
You can now watch the following classics on the platform:
- Vlak u snijegu (Train in the Snow)
- Čudnovate zgode šegrta Hlapića (The Lapitch the Little Shoemaker)
- Čudesna šuma (The Elm-Chanted Forest)
- Družba Pere Kvržice (Pero Kvržica’s Gang)
These timeless films form the foundation of Croatian cultural heritage. They are stories of friendship, courage, unity, and solidarity that still carry powerful messages for all generations today.
Educational Corner: School in the Hospital
Some of these films have also been included in the “School in the Hospital” section. We have prepared methodological materials and worksheets for film analysis, allowing teachers and educators to turn hospital days into creative, educational hours.
Enjoy the movies!
Film in Hospital currently operates in 12 European countries, providing children and youth in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare institutions with access to European films, film education, and cultural participation. The project is co-funded by the MEDIA sub-programme of Creative Europe (under the Film Education and Audience Development call).
